Best Sauce for Quesadillas
One of my favorite meals to serve for my family is quesadillas. Not only are they easy to whip up using leftovers or whatever you have on hand, but paired with my quesadilla sauce recipe, they are super delicious!
This is a copycat Taco Bell Quesadilla Sauce that comes together in just a few minutes using a few simple ingredients. You may even already have the ingredients in your pantry!
Homemade quesadilla sauce is ready in no time - you can prepare it while your quesadillas are sizzling in the pan. So easy and quick! And, it really adds flavor to your quesadillas, no matter what you're topping them with. You can even try serving it with nachos, taquitos, tacos or burritos!
Quesadilla Dipping Sauce FAQs
Can I make quesadilla sauce without mayonnaise?
You can easily make quesadilla sauce without mayonnaise: substitute with Greek yogurt instead! The taste will be different without mayo, and less creamy, but Greek yogurt is light and will give you a great, fresh-tasting sauce.
What is quesadilla sauce made of?
My quesadilla sauce recipe uses a blend of mayo, sour cream, pickled jalapeno juice, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and chili powder. This blend of seasonings and sauces makes an incredibly creamy, tangy sauce unlike any other. It pairs well with chicken, beef, and vegetable quesadillas, as well as just about anything else you want to serve it with!
Quesadilla Sauce Ingredients
- Mayonnaise
- Sour cream
- Pickled jalapenojuice
- Ground cumin
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Chili powder
How to Make Quesadilla Sauce
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, jalapeño juice, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and chili powder. Mix well until creamy.
- Serve with aquesadilla - or anything you want -and enjoy!
How to Store Quesadilla Sauce
You can easily prepare this quesadilla sauce ahead of time and store in an airtight container or glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Since the base for this sauce is mayonnaise, I would not recommend freezing as mayonnaise does not freeze well.
Sauce for Quesadillas Tips
- Want more or less spice? Adjust the levels of jalapeno juice and chili powder used to change the spice level.
- Skip the mayo and use Greek Yogurt if you'd like a lighter sauce!
